On Sunday the 28th in our Barclays Women’s Championship game against Charlton Athletic, the club can confirm that midfielder Charlotte Fleming has unfortunately sustained an ACL rupture to her knee.
Fleming has also suffered a grade 2 MCL lesion and meniscus damage.
The injury will see Fleming sidelined for a number of months, working alongside our medical department.
Speaking on Charlotte, Head Coach, Melissa Phillips said:
"We are devastated by the injury Charlotte sustained. She is a key contributor on the pitch and we will miss her presence. However, her character stretches far beyond the field as she adds value as a teammate and leader within our culture.
"She’s in fantastic care within our medical team and knows this is merely a speed bump in her journey. We all wish her a smooth and speedy recovery but will be with her every step of the way."
We’re all right behind you Charlotte, every step of the way!
