London City Lionesses are thrilled to announce the signing of talented young goalkeeper Sophia Poor, on loan from WSL side Aston Villa for the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old started her career in the Leicester City’s WSL academy – starting 12 matches. Poor later made the switch to Aston Villa, where she was called into first team action against Chelsea.
She started the following game against West Ham, and her performances were enough to get her nominated for the WSL Player of the Month award.

On the international stage, Poor has represented England at U17’s level, starting in four European Championship qualification matches and keeping clean sheets against Ukraine and Belgium.
In the final tournament – Poor featured in the group stages in victories over Poland and Sweden. She also was part of the U19’s England squad for the Algarve Cup.
