London City Lionesses interim head coach Darren Smith has no doubts about the morale and mentality of his players as they prepare to host Durham in the Barclays Women's Championship.
“Morale is fantastic," Smith said after the team's defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday.
"The players have bought into the fact that we had to play a certain way this week, knowing that the only way we were going to be competitive was by playing as a unit."
Despite suffering back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, Smith is pleased with the team's progress and is optimistic ahead of the visit of Durham.
"I think the last two performances have really shown what our principles are like and it’s about building on that at the weekend again," Smith added.
London City and Durham approach this weekend's clash at the foot of the form table, with both teams winless in their last five league games.
The Wildcats will call upon forward Amy Andrews to turn the tide, while the arrival of Lotta Lindstrom is set to boost London City.
