How are you feeling about our first game of the season?

It’s been a long time coming!

Ten weeks of preseason is no easy feat, but when you’re looking towards such a big game – against newcomers into the league – you don’t know what to expect, minus seeing that they’ve signed some really high-class players.

It’s going to be a tough game, but we're doing everything we can to be prepared for the challenge.

How have you found preseason?

Preseason has been up and down, there have been some really hard weeks and then others where it's been more of a de-load.

It’s been nice been getting to know all of the new girls, which is so important when we’ve had so many new comers as staff and players.

Spain was beautiful but it was intense and a big mental strength test, but I do think that's what you need sometimes in these circumstances. While it was tough, it was really nice to get away with the girls.

What are you looking to achieve this season, both personally and with the team?

I just want to get promoted. I think it’s always important to strive for better as a footballer and to want to continue to improve no matter what. I’m more of a senior player now, so I want to help guide our younger players through the season. Hopefully, as a team, we can show that togetherness and competitiveness and hopefully go all the way.

London City fans, it's almost time.

Join Megan Campbell at Hayes Lane on Sunday, 8 September, as we host Newcastle United in the Barclays Women's Championship.
