London City Lionesses produced a five-star performance to advance to the Fifth Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, with 5-0 the scoreline versus Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday [12 January].
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah scored an eight-minute hattrick in the first half to fire London City into an unassailable lead, with Kosovare Asllani and Isobel Goodwin netting in the second-half to keep the Pride.
Jocelyn Prêcheur made his full allocation of substitutions, introducing Grace Neville, Rofiat Imuran, Shen Mengyu, Julia Roddar, Lucy Fitzgerald, and Maddi Wilde appearing from the bench after the break.
“I’m satisfied for several reasons,” the Frenchman told reporters post-match, “the first is that the team took the match very seriously – which was essential because Fulham have performed very well this season – and played with discipline.
“It was the perfect environment and we’re grateful for the opportunity to play here. It’s always hard to restart after one month without competition, so this was a good challenge for us. Preparing for the second half of the season, we need to maintain momentum and play fast with the ball – and that’s what we did today.”
The Fifth Round draw will take place on Monday, 13 January from 18:30, broadcast live from Wembley Stadium on the Adobe Women’s FA Cup YouTube channel.
