Lucy Fitzgerald is one of our own and full of confidence ahead of this weekend's trip to Charlton Athletic.
In a post-training interview on Thursday [21 March], the Englishwoman lifted the lid on the mood in the camp, the change of pace under Remi Allen, and more.
Here is every word she said.
We've had two important wins and a solid draw before that, how is the mood in the camp?
It's very positive, those wins have created good momentum within the camp. Remi has helped everyone and has given us new energy and now it's about building on those wins and putting more points on the board.
What have been the main changes since Remi came in?
We've changed our shape on the field, but the main difference is the standards we are working to in training. Everyone has raised their standards, pushing each other for places in the squad. We're definitely creating that kind of culture, which is the main difference, I'd say.
Besides from centre-back and centre-forward, you've played everywhere this season. How are you finding your new role at right wing-back?
To be fair, I do really enjoy wing-back. It's a lot of running, but I don't really mind that. In this formation, it's nice that we have structure and freedom, so we all interchange a lot within the game. I'm really enjoying that more attack-minded role.
What are your thoughts heading into this weekend's game against Charlton Athletic?
It's a big game, we know their near the top of the league and that it'll be a tough match. Against Sunderland, we showed that we can go toe-to-toe with anyone and get three points against anyone in the league. We're confident in ourselves and we're going to give everything to get those three points.
