Following the recent government update on the new tiering system, which will take place from December 2nd 2020, it has been confirmed that London City Lionesses fall under Tier 3.
Unfortunately, this means that London City Lionesses will not be able to host fans for their upcoming home games until a further update. London City Lionesses are disappointed that fans can't be welcomed back to Princes Park Stadium just yet but of course the health and safety of everyone is of upmost priority.
London City Lionesses Chair, Diane Culligan has released a statement to fans:
"Dear Supporters, It's wonderful to have an opportunity to speak with you all. I do hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well during these trying and difficult times.
You will have heard that the government has relaxed certain protocols relating to resuming football as a spectator sport at our various stadiums and venues around the country. Unfortunately, our current home at Princes Park, Dartford is in tier 3 and therefore has not been included in this element of the relaxation of the rules.
Whilst it is disappointing that we have to wait a bit longer to welcome you all back to Princes Park, the health and safety of our players, staff and the wider community are our number 1 priority.
London City Lionesses and the love of the game are what bring us all together, in this instance and I would like to reiterate that the health and safety of all of our community, family and friends is paramount - without a healthy supportive community and nation there will not be a healthy football competition, which we all love so much.
Football is the national sport and is something that can and does bring us all together during these challenging times. We understand that beating this pandemic is the most important thing right now.
We cannot wait to welcome you all back when it is safe to do so. Our next game against Coventry United will be shown on The FA Player and we are currently investigating how we can bring more streamed games to you, as the Lionesses have some great games scheduled - I and the team will keep you in the loop on any developments. I know the team are looking forward to your support."
