We’re delighted to welcome highly-regarded midfielder Gesa Marashi to London City Lionesses on a two-year contract.
The 18-year-old arrives at Hayes Lane from Arsenal’s Professional Game Academy, signing her first senior deal following a short-term loan spell with Reading last season.
“I could see that the project is building and that there would be opportunities here to help the team try to win promotion from the Championship,” Marashi said upon signing.
I’m a box-to-box midfielder and I like to make an impact at both ends of the pitch. I like attacking and scoring, but defending is important as well.
"With all of the changes that are happening at the training ground, it’s a really exciting time to join the Club and I’m happy to be here.”
Mareshi is the third player to sign on the dotted line with London City this week, following defenders Grace Neville and Maddi Wilde.
"This is the start of a journey for the Club,” explained Director of Football Ronald Thompson. “With that in mind, we made it a priority to sign young players who could come along with us on that journey.
“Gesa is keen to learn and fits the profile of player that we were looking for. We know that she will improve and grow year-after-year and we’re excited to welcome her to London City.”
Gesa has joined the Pride – and now it’s your chance. With our Hayes Lane debut just around the corner, click the link below to sign-up for ticketing and hospitality updates from our new home in the London Borough of Bromley.
