Coupe de France champion Jocelyn Prêcheur has signed a three-year contract to become London City Lionesses Head Coach, we’re thrilled to announce.
Formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, the Frenchman is renowned for his winning track record and will play a key role in realising our objective to become the world’s preeminent sports organisation under the ownership of Michele Kang.
“Following an exhaustive global search, we were proud to appoint Jocelyn due to his proven track record in coaching at an elite level in the women’s game and successes in the 2023-24 season at Paris Saint-Germain, where he led the team to the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals,” said Kang.
“I am confident in Jocelyn’s ability to lead the London City Lionesses to new heights in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season, for both players and fans.”
Prêcheur has amassed a wealth of elite level experience, leading Jiangsu Suning of the Chinese Women’s Super League to a historic quadruple in 2019, his first season as a head coach.
Following a brief spell at the helm of Meizhou Hakka, the 42-year-old was appointed Paris Saint-Germain boss in September 2023, leading his squad to the Coupe de France, the Champions League semi-finals, and a second-place finish in the Arkema Première Ligue.
“Since I met Michele last season, I have admired her vision and dedication to the women’s game,” said the permanent sixth head coach in London City Lionesses history. “The high-performance culture of winning she is building across her teams was a key part in my decision to join London City.
“I can’t wait to get started next week and meet the players and team staff.”
Director of Football Ronald Thompson added: “We were drawn to Jocelyn because of his performances in France, winning the French Cup while also running Olympique Lyonnais close in the French League and Champions League semi-finals.
“He’s proven himself as a winner in quality leagues, working with players of all ages. In China, where he only had access to local talent, he improved his players to the point where they consistently won trophies.
“In Jocelyn, we’ve found someone who matches our vision and we’re excited to have someone of his calibre on board.”
