International Round-Up: April 2025

The Pride made their mark around the world once again in the international break, with 13 players getting called up to their national teams.


With debuts, goals, and assists – here is how our international break unfolded.


 

England U23s


Teyah Goldie played the full 90 minutes against both Spain and Belgium.

Freya Godfrey made her first U23s start against Spain and got 83 minutes in the tank, before following it up with a delicious assist against Belgium.

Izzy Goodwin can't stop scoring – she netted in both matches, making it three in three for her at U23s level.

Emily Orman made her debut for the U23s, coming on at half-time against Belgium and keeping a clean sheet in the second half to secure the win.

Republic of Ireland


Megan Campbell was at her best for Ireland, starting in both back-to-back wins over Greece. Ireland smashed Greece in the first fixture 4-0, and held onto a 2-1 win in the second Women’s Nations League fixture.

Sweden


Kosovare Asllani scored in Sweden’s 3-2 win over Italy, a game which saw the Blue and Yellow 1-0 down within a minute, and winning the game in the 95th minute. Asllani started again in the 1-1 draw with Wales. A win, a draw, and a goal for Asllani as she took her league form into international duty with her.

Sofia Jakobsson also came off the bench in the 82nd minute against Italy to help complete the comeback in the Women’s Nations League.

Japan


Saki Kumagai featured in both matches for Japan against Colombia. They drew 1-1 in their first fixture, before firing back with a resounding 6-1 win in the second.

Serbia


Miljana Ivanović was on the mark for Serbia after missing the last international break through injury. She came off the bench in a 1-0 win over Hungary in their first Women’s Nations League fixture, and went one better in the next match, scoring in Serbia’s 3-0 win against Belarus.

Cameroon


Charlène Meyong and Cameroon’s only fixture this break was against Morocco in a friendly fixture, which they won 1-0.

Sophia Poor joined up with an unbeaten England U19s camp over April, the highlight being a staggering 10-0 win over Ukraine. Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah was also away with Ghana during the international break.

 

After an impressive international showing featuring landmark debuts, crucial match-winning goals and assists, attention now turns to the league for London City.
