International duty for London City Lionesses

EURO Qualifying continues across the continent on Friday [12 July], with five London City Lionesses representing their country.  

 

Here is everything you need to know.

Ireland: Ruesha Littlejohn, Grace Moloney & Megan Campbell 

London City’s Irish trio are back on international duty for their remaining games in Women’s EURO Qualifiers.  

 

Sitting in fourth in group A1, the Girls in Green are yet to win a game.  

 

Having faced France, England, Sweden (twice), they will now take on les Blues and the Lionesses a second time. 

 

  • England v Republic of Ireland | Friday, 12 July (20:00), Carrow Road (ITV1) 

  • Republic of Ireland V France | Tuesday, 16 July (18:00), Páirc Uí Chaoimh 

 

Sweden: Kosovare Asllani 

Her first international game as a London City player, Kosovare Asllani remains in Sweden’s squad for the EURO Qualifiers.  

 

So far, they have faced England (drawing 1-1), France (losing 1-0), and the Republic of Ireland (winning 3-0 and 1-0).  

 

Sweden sit second in Group A3 on seven points. Although they are level with England, the Swedes have the advantage on goal-difference.

Finland: Lotta Lindström 

Currently sat at the bottom of Group A1, Finland have four points.  

Only needing three points to level with Norway (who sit at the top of the group with seven points), they will be looking to fight for the remaining points to qualify.  

 

Lotta Lindström is London City’s addition to the Finnish squad, joining Barclays Women’s Super League names Jutta Rantala, Emma Koivisto, and Eveliina Summanen.   

 

So far, Finland’s results have been mixed. They suffered defeat to Norway and the Netherlands in their first round of games, going on to beat Italy and draw 1-1 with the Netherlands the second time around.
