Hayley Nolan has signed a new deal with London City Lionesses in the wake an exciting upcoming 2021/22 FA Women’s Championship season.
Nolan joined the Pride for the 2020/21 season in which she was a prominent player in Head Coach Melissa Phillip’s squad. The midfielder already made headway in the beginning of the season where Nolan earned SETL Player of the Match for the September 2020 matchup against Durham Women FC in the FA Women’s Championship. She had a total of 18/20 appearances overall, in which she played a full 90 minutes in all of the matches.
The 24-year-old Irish international came to London City Lionesses after a successful campaign playing for Hartford University in the United States. She made her professional debut with the Pride against Crystal Palace FC Women on 12 September 2020.
Nolan has been an active member for the Irish Women’s National Team, where she received her first senior cap for the Republic of Ireland in their 1-0 loss to Belgium in April 2021.
Speaking on Nolan, Phillips said, “Hayley is such a steady player who takes tremendous detail in her passing and quality in possession. She showed a great amount of consistency throughout the past season.
She will be taking on a new role for the team next year and we are excited to help her develop but also see her flourish. We look forward to having Hayley back to London City and stretching towards our goals together."
Nolan shared her thoughts on the new deal and said, “I think when deciding on a club to play for, it is important that your goals and visions align. I don't think there is any question of how determined and passionate the coaching staff and players are at LCL.
It is something that I definitely wanted to be a part of and look forward to for the coming season."
