Updated: Mar 9, 2023

London City Lionesses fell to defeat on home soil versus Sheffield United, losing 2-1 after an impressive pushback from Jonathan Morgan's side on Sunday [5 March].

Here is the story of the match, as told by nine photos from Club Photographer Wing Chong:

Captain Harley Bennett leads London City onto the field, accompanied by mascots from North West Kent Rangers.

The Lionesses assemble for their pre-match photo against the Blades.

Goalkeeper Shae Yanez organises her defence as the intensity of the match lifts in the opening exchanges.

Goal! London City take the lead in the 11th minute, with Lily Agg and Sarah Ewens combining to beat Fran Stenson.

We'll file this under 'things we love to see'...

A King Charles Spaniel watches on, disapprovingly, as Sheffield United equalise and take the lead in the second half.

Huddle. It wasn't the result we wanted, but the bounce back mission starts now.

Whatever the result, we will always make time for The Pride. Thank you so much for your support!

Lucy Shepherd adds her signature to an impressive collection.
