The 20-year-old defender arrives at Hayes Lane with professional and youth international experience, including a decade as part of the Gunners’ player pathway, a loan spell in the Barclays Women’s Championship with Watford, and appearances for England Under-15s and Under-19s.

“I’m very excited to be here,” commented the London-born defender. “I feel like it’s been a long time coming for me to come to a good place, with good people, and to be playing football again.

“I’m lucky enough to be familiar with a lot of the girls, which is lovely, and it feels like I’ve been here a lot longer than I have. Everyone has been really welcoming and has helped me settle in well.

“My number one aim for this season is to play regular minutes at a high level. I always want to play possession-based football and I feel that playing on this team will help me achieve that. I absolutely love defending and driving forward with the ball. I’m really excited to be here.”

Goldie – a highly-regarded, ball-playing defender – captained England U15s in 2019, before later graduating to the Lionesses’ U19 squad.

The 2004-born youth international is London City’s first defensive addition of the summer window, joining Grace Neville, Emma Mukandi, Georgia Brougham, Megan Campbell, Maddi Wilde, and Corinne Henson in Jocelyn Prêcheur’s backline.

Goldie could feature in blue for the first time on 8 September, as Hayes Lane provides the backdrop for our season-opening clash against newly-promoted Newcastle United.
