Shortly after she dazzled Bristol City with a two-goal performance, Atlanta Primus spoke with reporters at Princes Park. Here is every word the Jamaican international said on an afternoon to remember for London City Lionesses.
How are you feeling after that performance and result?
It definitely felt good – it’s always nice to get on the scoresheet but all that mattered today was for us to take all three points and our performance has put us in the position to compete over the next couple of games.
You took both of your goals really well; can you talk us through it?
I think I play a little bit better when I follow my instincts and that’s what I tried to do today. I kept it low and made sure that I hit the target. [Fran Bentley] made a couple of great saves when we played them last time, so it was all about making sure we tested her as much as possible.
You also had a long shot denied in the first half – it was a busy day for you…
I connected with it well and she made a really good save, but we kept testing her and fortunately got the two goals today.
Was it nice to be back in a midfield three with Shanade [Hopcroft] and Amy [Rodgers] after a while in a different formation and system?
We were all laughing about it before the game. It’s nice to be back in a more familiar position, but it was about working hard and getting the three points – and that’s what we did.
